After nearly three months of migrations, our own infrastructure is now migrated entirely to our cloud platform and new Intel Nehalem servers. Everything from our Asterisk VoIP PBX, to our own websites and customer portals are hosted on the cloud. We carefully designed our cloud to our applications needs to ensure not only continuity, but the highest levels of performance as well. Our cloud does not face latency issues of earlier cloud platforms on the network, virtualization, or storage layers. In 12 years of business this has been one of the most impressive technologies we have ever adopted.
After months of anticipation and thorough evaluation, we have chosen our Cloud platform to use. We have already started implementing it across our network and will make an official announcement in a joint press release with the company later this month with more details. Thank you all for your patience in waiting for us to choose a platform and we are pleased to say the company has exceeded our expectations.
For about 6 years we have used the Directadmin control panel in our shared hosting environment. Because of the growth of our business, and the high demand from our customers, we felt it was necessary to make the switch to cPanel. cPanel is the industry leader with their point-and-click hosting platform, so this has allowed us to offer better service, and more features to our customers. Throughout the next few months each account will be migrated to the new platform.
We've been using virtualization technology for about 3 years and the next evolution and use of virtualization has progressed a lot in that time. Right now we are undergoing testing of various platforms and implementations of grid, or cloud, based computing and hope to be able to launch this service in the 2nd quarter of this year.
This year will be our 12th year in business serving the industry. There are many great things planned including the launch of our new shared hosting product, Cloud Web, so keep an eye out for more information.
This month marks the 7 year point since we moved into the Equinix facilities in Ashburn, VA.
